I served December of 1968 to March of 1970. I worked QL19er based in Pleiku and An Khe. I remember the Mang Yang pass and buku ambush/firefight. I served with Mick Lyle, Tiger Dale and the gang.

I was with B co. in 1967-68. I was involved in 3 ambushes on Highway 19 and received the Bronze Star the same time that Earnie Guarno. I don't think that I spelled his name correctly. LOL. I came home early to bring Prisoners to Leavenworth Kansas. I was let out early because I didn't have enough time left in Vietnam or in the Army. I want to make a reunion someday but something always comes up. Hurricanes and the like.

Thanks,
I have read the comments from each of you and am impressed with the jobs that you had over there. I was in the first group of B Co. that landed in Quinon and moved to Pleiku, but our duty was mainly town patrol and base security at the time. Thanks for your service. Dale Currier

I was searching for info on an old friend from the 615th
MP Co., Long Binh, when a search led to this page! Does
anyone have information on James Ruffer! He was a E-5, while in Long Binh. We stayed in touch, until a few years ago, and then his email address became inactive.
I have contacted the 720th Battalion, and they have not had a contact with him for 2 years. I would appreciate
any news on Jim. He was in Memphis, TN.
Thanks

I came across your web page while searching for MP helmets. It was good to see your video. You had some real armour on that M151. I'm a former member of the 615th MP Company (The Bloodhounds) stationed at Long Binh and Thu Duc and Bien Hoa. I really liked he video clips with the music. Steve Belcher

I was B/504 Company Commander from July 1967- Feb 1968. Roddy Chatham was our First SGT.
When I first arrived we were in Camp Holloway, then moved to Camp Schmidt.
Was there the night we got hammered by 50+ rockets, as told in the online history of the Company. The nurses and docs at the 71st became believers in sandbagging after that nite!

Stumbled over the website on a search and glad to see its active. I was the PMI assigned to Kontum in the last of 1968 and until about September 1969. I was then then in Pleiku, assigned to CID as a PMI until December 1969. I was listed as a member of B Co., but my time was with the CID office.

Did you know?
The Department of Veterans Affairs established a service-connection for Vietnam veterans suffering from Parkinson's disease, ischemic heart disease (IHD) and B-cell leukemias such as hairy-cell leukemia. These illnesses are now considered "presumed" illnesses. This "presumption" simplifies and speeds up the application process for VA benefits. It is important to note that this new policy will not go into effect until sometime in 2010. At which point affected veterans will be urged to submit new disability claims.

I am the daughter of Gary W. Garverick, one of your fellow MP soldiers in Vietnam. I'm signing this guestbook in hopes that someone will contact me. I'm trying to get information on my father, especially his bronze star medal. Gary passed away in 1999. Looking forward to hearing from someone. Thank you.

I was very excited to do a search and found this site with the memorial and my dad's name on it. His Name was Edwin G Campany. He was a wonderful father who raised his 8 children by himself after spending two years in Viet Nam and coming home. I know how much the military police meant to him as he often talked about some of the things they did. After retiring in 1970, He became a village police in our village of Lowville, NY. He was very well known and liked. As we just marked the second anniversary of his death, I have thought of him often and how he taught us to live the army way. Supper always at 5:00pm. Never be late, of course we were all late because dad kept his big ben clock ten minutes fast. He was instrumental in getting a Veterans of Foreign Wars started here in Lowville which will be celebrating their 50th reunion in spring of 2010. He was also very involved in the Lowville Elks and was Elk of the year in 1993/1994. He suffered over ten years with colon, rectal, and prostate cancer. We lost our youngest brother due to a doctor cutting his bowels during a hernia mesh repair on Dec. 16, 2006 and dad finally gave up his fight. He never thought that he would bury his own son, because of all the surgeries he had. I have some of the comadations that were given to dad and a few pictures of Viet Nam and I will cherish them forever and then pass them down to my daughter then to her daughter. Again thank you so much for this website with the memorial. Patricia Peebles

Hi Robert,
Hummmm, It might just have been a "Glitch" as we have some work going on right
now behind the scenes to enhance the web-site!
I tried coming in from a different computer & it didn't happen with me, so If
the problem persist I would appreciate you (or anyone else experiencing this)
dropping me a line @ webmaster@pleikump.org to let me know where this is
happening so that I can get it resolved!
Thanks,
Vicki

"I thank the association, and the two individual contributors Bo Scroggins & Gary Moore, for the generous contributions for the orphans in Hue, Vietnam. The funds were delivered in January and were greatly appreciated. The money went to the Orphan and Handicapped Children Home, run by Father Duong D. Toai & Sister Chantal, and the Dunc Son Social Charity Center run by the Buddhist Monks."

Hi guys. Really nice learning of the Association (thx for the postcard Gene).
I logged onto the website within mins. of receiving it. I served with Co.B 504th Feb. 1967 thru Feb. 1968. Approx. 6 months on Highway and then remainder on Town patrol. There for switch from Camp Holloway to Camp Schmitt and rotated to states about 2 weeks after Tet. I think I recognized Burns (nicknamed me) Nelms (town patrol), Higgins and Oilslager (highway)???. Also saw name Minter AKA \"Pi_ _ er\" (Georgia)? Hope to hear from anyone that served with me and I hope to make your next reunion. Until then God Bless!!!

I was with the ROADRUNNERS out of Camp Schimdt in Pleiku, from july 1969 to sept. 1970. Looking to make contact with anyone who was there with me. Basic training was FT Campbell, Ky...AIT at Ft. Gordon Ga.
Is there anybody out there?
Patricia Campany Peebles:
I recently found this site after doing a search for my dad Edwin G Campany (deas). He was stationed at Fort Gordon most of his career and taught school for MP's. He also spent two years in Viet Nam. I have some pictures of him and some of the men he served with. I will always cherish them. Just wondering if anyone remembers serving with him at Fort Gordon. He left there in Aug 1968 after getting back from Viet Nam 1965=1967. He was then transferred to then Camp Drum to finish his last year. Sure hope someone can help me.
